Licensing and offline operation
ArenaDirector is licensed by subscription. The subscription is linked to your account and activated on one specific computer. There is also a free version, which has fewer features and puts a watermark on live canvas output.

Operation without a network
Venue networks are not always reliable, and a few minutes before kick-off is the worst time for a sign-in prompt. So ArenaDirector keeps working when it cannot reach the licensing service.
The three states

| Offline | The app has not been able to reach the service recently. A grace period is running. |
| Free | The app found no active subscription for this computer. |
The first two states both give you the full product. An offline computer works exactly like a licensed one, without a watermark, so a late network check never changes what your audience sees.
The grace period
When ArenaDirector cannot reach the licensing service, it starts a grace period, during which the app works normally. Configuration → License shows the date the grace period ends.
The grace period runs for seven days from the last successful check. If you connect the computer to the internet briefly before an event, that is enough to cover the whole event.
When fewer than 3 days remain, a chip appears in the top bar. It is amber below 3 days and red below 1 day, and selecting it opens Configuration → License.
Once the connection is back, the app verifies the license in the background and the status shows the renewal date again.
If the grace period runs out before the connection comes back, ArenaDirector asks you to sign in again once a connection is available. Your configuration stays as it is: buses, canvases, hot buttons, sequences and rotations are local data that the licence does not control.
Device binding
You activate a subscription on one computer, and Configuration → License shows that computer's name.
To move to another computer, sign out on the old one first, and do it before you travel. A computer you left behind cannot release its activation.
The free tier
The free version does not expire. It has one canvas, one bus, one page with up to 64 hot buttons, and one sequence.
Live canvas output shows an ArenaDirector watermark in the center. When Club or a higher plan activates, the watermark disappears immediately, without a restart.
