Record team stats live

During a match, you record team stats, penalties and player stats in the Live values panel or with controller keys. Overlays that show these values update immediately.

Select the sport and add the teams first. See Manage teams and rosters. The panel shows the values of the active match, and the match's name and sport appear under Live values. To change the match, see Run several matches. For the panel's other controls, see Drive an overlay live.

Team stats and penalties are available on Club and higher plans. Players and player stats need the Pro plan. See Plans and limits.

Select a team

  1. In the top bar, select Live values.
  2. In the Teams section, select the short name of a team.

The section shows that team's stats and penalties, and its players if it has any.

Change a team stat

Select − or + on the stat's row. A stat that counts what is left, such as timeouts, shows pips, and − uses one up. A stat that scores in steps, such as points in basketball, has a button for each step: +1, +2 and +3.

The Possession row has a switch for each team. Giving possession to one team takes it away from the others.

When you use a timeout with −, the show's timeout clock starts at the length of a timeout, for example 1:00 in handball. If the timeout clock is already running, it keeps running.

When a count reaches its limit, the row shows a flag such as Bonus. Values the app calculates, such as the players on the court, have no − and +.

Report a penalty

  1. Select the team.
  2. Under Penalties, select + Penalty.
  3. If the sport has more than one kind of penalty, select the kind.

For when a penalty counts down, see Penalties and the reference clock. The penalty that ends first is at the bottom of the list, and a penalty ends when it reaches zero.

If the rules let a penalty end when the other team scores, its row shows End (goal). Select it when the other team scores. Only these penalties show End (goal): the minor and the double minor in ice hockey, the 2-minute penalty in floorball and the red card in futsal. When more than 2:00 remain on a double minor, End (goal) cuts it to 2:00 (its second minor) and the penalty keeps running.

To remove a penalty you reported by mistake, select Remove penalty (the trash icon) on its row. If an overlay on air shows the penalty, the app asks you to confirm.

Record a player stat

  1. Select the team.
  2. Under Players, select the player. The row opens and shows the stat buttons.
  3. Select the stat, for example + Goal or Yellow.

A stat with a time, such as 2-minute, also starts a penalty for the player.

A goal, or a point in basketball and volleyball, also adds to the team's score, and Undo removes it from both counts.

A stat that scores in steps has a button for each step, for example +1, +2 and +3 for points in basketball.

After each record, a message appears at the bottom of the panel for 8 seconds. To cancel the record, select Undo in the message.

Put a player in the spotlight

A Roster element with Player set to Picked in Live values shows the player in the spotlight.

  1. Under Players, select the player.
  2. Select Spotlight.

To take the player out of the spotlight, select Spotlight again.

Start the next period

  1. On the game clock's card, select Next period….
  2. Read the confirmation. It lists the team stats that reset to their start value, such as timeouts at half time, and warns you if the game clock is still running.
  3. Select the confirm button, for example Start the 2nd half.

Next period… does not change the game clock. Reset the clock separately.

Use controller keys

You can bind each of these jobs to a key, the same way as the other overlay actions:

JobAction
Add 1 to a team statChange overlay value on the field of the stat, for example nhf.timeouts

A Next period key does not ask you to confirm. For each action's parameters, see Controller actions.

Record a player stat with two keys

With two keys, a small set of keys can record every stat for every player. For example, bind one Pick stat key per stat and one Pick player key per player.

  1. Push the Pick stat key, for example the key for Goals.
  2. Within 5 seconds, push the player's Pick player key.

You can also push the player key first. While the app waits for the second key, the first key shows that it is waiting, and the Players section shows Waiting for a player… or Waiting for a stat…. For the full rules, see Record with two keys.
